Prakash Gupta from Surguja says he was reporting on Swara about irregularities in NREGA payments in baikona village of Pratappur block in Surajpur district. Prakash Gupta is talking to Sarpanch of Kanaknagar in Surajpur district of Chhattisarh who tells him that when he had met him on 18th May he had recorded an interview saying NREGA payments of Rs 7 lakhs are due in his village from more than 5 months. He is telling him today that after the interview went on air on 19th May higher officials got active and an inspection team visited the village after a week and the payments were made the next day. Pitbasu Bhoi a laborer from Surguja district in Chhattisgarh says I had reported about my friend who died in a hospital in capital Raipur and doctors were not releasing his body before producing Rs 30,000 more. After the Swara report some journalists reached hospital and that Rs 30,000 was waived off. I thank you all for helping that poor family. Bindeshwari Painkra from Sitapur in Surguja district in Chhattisgarh says earlier I had reported on this forum that NREGA wages were due in Sur village for more than a year. The villagers had complained to all the officers including the collector before but there was no action. But after Swara report some officials visited the village and today the wages are getting distributed. A P Joshi from Dabhra in Janjgir district of Chhattisgarh says on 21st April Bhan Sahu had intrviewed me about people from a nearby village not getting and unemployment allowance under NREGA. He speaks to a woman from that village who tells him that the officer visited the same day and NREGA work started in the village but they are not keen to give unemployment allowance.
