Deme Oraon is calling from Rourkela in Odisha and says Rourkela Steel plant has begun to build a compound wall with Police help in Barkani village nearby. Adivasi villagers have been opposing it and have done protests but suddenly company has started work today with police support.Govt is not only violating law but destroying livelihood of Adivasis, he alleges. Jogeshwar Oraon from Salaiyatand village in Chatra district in Jharkhand says in his adivasi Kuduk language that there are 25 Oraon families in his village but there is no school. Around 50 students need to go 5 kms to go to schol. There is a river in between and some children have almost died when there was more water during monsoons.
