It is 2.5 kms to the panchayat which is muddy in rain and dusty in summer and there is no bridge on stream which needs to be crossed . They need to stand in long line to get water. Handpump is not throwing sufficient water. Villagers are suffering. This was complained in panchayat but no action has been taken. Monika Marawi is visiting Kamthi village in Pandaria block of Chhattisgarh where she meets Manikram Patel an old farmer who says that he used to use cow dung for his crops before but started using chemical fertilizer later which is harming his crop. He again wants to use organic manure and looking for support to know more about it. He grows rice, vegetables and kodo and would like to know what kind of organic manure and pesticide to be used so that crop is not harmed which is happening while using chemical fertilizers.
