Arrested masons still in police custody after 10 days!
Afzal Khan from Bhopalpatnam in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh says few days back I had told you about arrest of two masons who were arrested as Maoists. Today police arrested another 6 people from the same village including a pregnant woman of 7 months. When many villagers stopped the road in protest police released them but 2 arrested 10 days ago are still in police custody. One of the arrested is a student who was working to pay his fees. Confiscated smuggled Teak in Bastar: Just tip of the iceberg
Afzal Khan from Bhopalpatnam in the border of Chhattisgarh adn Andhra Pradesh says this weel forest depatment has captured some trucks of teak and have also arrested some smugglers but this is just the tip of the iceberg. He says in the border between AP and Chhattisgarh huge amount of teak is getting smuggled and forest department is only checking the area near to villages. They say they do not have enough staff. Police arrests masons as maoists and keeps them in jail!
Afzal Khan from Bhopalpatnam in Chhattisgarh-Andhra border says police has arrested two masons from village Tumirguda on 28th July when they came to work in Madded. Both the boys are still in the Madded police station after a week. When mother of both the boys went to police station they saw their sons being beaten by the police and when they tried to question they were thrown out of the police station. Inter state teak smuggling need to be checked in Chhattisgarh
Afzal Khan from Bhopalpatnam in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh is telling us about capture of teak wood worth Rs 7 lakhs which was being taken to Andhra Pradesh by smugglers. He says this kind of smuggling is going on for quite some time which is not being checked due to lack of forest officials in the area. Government needs to immediately look at this issues otherwise the area will be devoid of teak woods with grave environmental and other consequences

Maoists release abducted government employees
Afzal Khan from Bhopalpatnam has sent a message that Maoists released abducted 5 government officials on 14th October, a day after their abduction from Bijapur. Relatives were waiting for their return but now police have stopped them for questioning and the relatives are not able to celebrate the festival which they were hoping to celebrate once their near and dear ones are released
