Forest dept evicted adivasis from forest land, No action on Forest Rights Act...

Jagdish Ji today is visiting manikpur village in Chitrakoot district in Uttar Pradesh where he meets 40 adivasi families. They tell him that they started cultivating around 300 bigha of forest land in 1992 but they were removed from that land in 2000. They have applied for getting that land back under Forest Rights Act but there is no action. If fighting for our land is crime, then put us in jail, says a woman from Nagdi...

A lady from Nagdi village in Ranchi Jharkhand is telling us that yesterday we did a procession to Raj Bhavan demanding release of Dayamani Barla. After that police is looking for 2 women leaders in Nagdi village. Why is police looking for them? Are they criminals? We are fighting to save our land. Is this a crime? If this is a crime then we are criminals and please do not look for only 2, arrest all of us and put us in jail. She requests all of us to help them in this fight.

Para teaches requested to fulfil their responsibility to students while agitating...
