He says 220 laborers worked in NREGA in 2009 and their payment of Rs 3 lakh is yet to be made. Electric poles were laid 20 years ago but no electricity has come. They have not got any ration card, no job card for NREGA. Village has no handpump and no roads. Old age pension have not been paid from 3 months. Ratikant from Raigarh in Chhattisgarh says that Govt websites are telling that everyone is entitled to get 3.85 liter of kerosene oil but the ration shops are giving only 2 liter to people who live Below Poverty line. People with Above Poverty Line card are not given any kerosene though the website says otherwise. It is a scam of crores of rupees and needs to be investigated. Chandrakant from Chanta village in Kabirdham district says this adivasi village has its subsidized ration shop 30 kms away and the Baiga, Gond adivasis need to travel through steep hills to get their ration. Repeated complaint to officers have not helped. But subsidized ration is not the only problem here. There is a NREGA work going on in the village where law is not being adhered to.
