They complain of illegal forest cutting by industry, Police arrests 32 villagers!

Rajesh Tripathi from Jan Chetna in Raigarh is telling us that in Gharghoda block of the district a Steel company has cut thousands of acres of forest illegally. When villager complained about it a police case was made against them and 32 people were arrested. Forest dept vehicles have surrounded our village,They may burn it, Pls help...

My name is Krishna. I am calling from village Bilawal Nagar in tahsil Mohamdi of Kheri district in Uttar Pradesh. We have a long standing conflict with the forest department but today around 25-30 vehicles of forest department have surrounded our village. They are accompanied with around 500 local people. Forest dept evicted adivasis from forest land, No action on Forest Rights Act...

Jagdish Ji today is visiting manikpur village in Chitrakoot district in Uttar Pradesh where he meets 40 adivasi families. They tell him that they started cultivating around 300 bigha of forest land in 1992 but they were removed from that land in 2000. They have applied for getting that land back under Forest Rights Act but there is no action.
