My name is Omprakash Baghel. We are from Pahadi Korwa primitive adivasi community. I am calling from Kumardha and Barghat villages in Dharmajaigarh block of Raigarh dsitrict of Chhattisgarh. We have applied for land deeds under Forest rigths act but that has got rejected at block level saying we already have land deeds which is not correct. I request you to help us according to the law and the officials to be punished who are harrassing us. He tells when money comes from govt to build a hand pump with the help of agents people send names of people and get the handpump dug in their personal land on open area. Raju Kumar from Chatra district in Jharkhand says in all the villages around him handpumps are lying unrepaired. Specially he says there are many schools where hand pumps are not working and children are having a hard time. It is also difficult to cook their mid day meals. After last Panchayat election government has given money to each village sarpanch for hand pump repair. He would like to ask where has that money gone which needs investigating. Brijesh Kumar from Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh says handpump in the dalit-adivasi part of their village is not working from last 4 months. They have given written complaint to officials quite a few times but there is no action. There is a handpump near a upper class landed person who does not allow dalits and adivasis to take water from there and the poor people are forced to fetch water from far.
