My name is Omprakash Baghel. We are from Pahadi Korwa primitive adivasi community. I am calling from Kumardha and Barghat villages in Dharmajaigarh block of Raigarh dsitrict of Chhattisgarh. We have applied for land deeds under Forest rigths act but that has got rejected at block level saying we already have land deeds which is not correct. I request you to help us according to the law and the officials to be punished who are harrassing us. Brijesh Kumar from Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh says handpump in the dalit-adivasi part of their village is not working from last 4 months. They have given written complaint to officials quite a few times but there is no action. There is a handpump near a upper class landed person who does not allow dalits and adivasis to take water from there and the poor people are forced to fetch water from far. Priyanka Borpujari from Mumbai says she called up the Block officer Balwant Singh following up the complaint for the non working hand pump from 7 months from Seema of District Rewa Madhya Pradesh. The message was recorded in Swara couple of days back. But the officer washed his hands off the matter, and said he could only ask the Panchayat officer, as the handpump had been out of order for seven months and why no one had complained earlier.
