We have been fighting against adivasi land being given illegally to industries like Bhaskar and Vedanta/Balco. There is another public hearing planned for 10th January and people are very angry. Rajkumar Mishra from Satna district in Madhya Pradesh says dalits and adivasis are forced to migrate from district to bigger cities in search of work in big numbers as they are not getting work under NREGA. They are also taking their children along harming their education. Rajkumar Mishra is calling from Satna in Madhya Pradesh to say that local newspapers are saying that Govt had put a deadline of 31st December for computerizing all the data related to social security pension. According to newspapers in Satna only 54% data entry has taken place so far and rest will not get their pension from next month.
