Earlier we used to grow Kodo and Kutki millets and were earning very less. But few years ago an NGO came to our village and advised us to shift to paddy cultivation and helped us made bunds to grow paddy. Around 90% of adivasi farmers of my village of 800 people shifted to paddy and are earning more today says Krishan Kumar Paraste from Kukdur village in Pandaria block of Kabirdham district in Chhattisgarh.
