Liquor shops not stationed according to Excise policy

Yashwant Ramteke says according to recently announced Excise policy all the liquor shops should be at a distance from school, hospital and main roads. But if you travel around Chhattisgarh you will find shops just next to these institutions and there is no effort to close them even after the policy announcement. He says in Dantewada there are liquor shops next to the famous temple which should also be removed to far off place

After Swara report NMDC removes pipes damaging oldest plants

Yashwant Ramteke from Dantewada in Chhattisgarh says two days after he reported about damage to Tree furn, the oldest plant on earth by NMDC pipelines, now forest department has ordered NMDC to remove the pipelines with a threat of action against head of NMDC if not done immediately. After the order NMDC has removed their pipeline from the protected area. NMDC destroys oldest living plants on earth, no punitive action

Yashwant Ramteke from Dantewada in Chhattisgarh says in the forest near National Mineral Development Mines some Tree ferns are found which are said to be more than 250 million years old. These are the oldest living plants on earth and this is the only location in Central India where they are found. These plants are in restricted area but NMDC had put pipelines there to fetch water which has killed hundreds of ferns. Overloaded trucks carrying iron ore destroy roads in Bailadila

Yashwant Ramteke from Dantewada is reporting that trucks carrying iron ore from Bailadila mines carry more than double of prescribed limit which is destroying the roads. Administration instead of checking on the load carried by trucks continue to concentrate on repairing the roads which is a wasteful exercise

Pipeline carrying ore restarts, is there a deal with Maoists?

Yashwant Ramteke from Dantewada is saying that the work on Essar pipeline which takes away iron ore from Dantewada to Vishakhapatnam has again started. This pipeline goes through deep tribal areas which are under control of maoists. Earlier Maoists had destroyed the pipeline at many place and the work was closed for years. He says the restart of work has raised a question in people’s mind asking whether there has been a deal struck between Maoists and Essar. Police should investigate it, he says
