Sarla is visiting Motijhil village in Muzaffarpur district in Bihar where she meets Vikas Kumar who tells her that there is a school in their village which has 85 students. Hand pump for the school is throwing dirty water from more than 2 months. Children need to go half a kilometer at someone’s place who is abusive. Sarla is talking to Pramila Devi of Akhil Bartiya Pragatisheel Mahila association who says that they work in Government schools as cook and get only Rs 10,000 for a year’s work. The cook is often forced to work as sweeper also. She demands that these workers should be included as school staff and should be given a salary of Rs 15,000 per month and not an honorarium of Rs 1000 which is given now.
