Pahari Korwa tribals in Surguja vows to restart traditional shifting cultivation
Omprakash Baghel is telling us that Pahadi Korwa tribals of Surguja district in Chhattisgarh has taken a decision to restart their traditional Bewar (Jhoom) cultivation. The tradition had stopped but in a recent meeting they have collected old seeds and learnt the process from Pahadi Korwas in Raigarh. And Govt says there are no Pahadi Korwas in Raigarh district. Impact: Govt team visit to check NREGA work by machine after Swara report
Prakash Gupta from Surguja in Chhattisgarh is telling us that on 1st May he had reported on Swara about NREGA work through machines, which is illegal. After Swara report on 3rd May a Govt team has visited Manpur village to enquire. He also speaks to the Sarpanch of the village who accepts that machines were used. Govt should work for honorable rehabilitation of manual scavengers on prority

No NREGA wages from year, Also allegation of corruption in Pension scheme
My name is Prakash Singh Marawi. I am calling from Navrachna Samaj Sevi Sanstha. Today I am visiting villages Laha and Jampani in Gram Panchayat Sapalwa in Korba district in Chhattisgarh. Here villagers are telling me that more than 1000 people did work under NREGA in January 2012 for 3 months but they are yet to get their wages.
