Tribal girls facing neglect in hostel, complaints dont work

In Bishanpura Khandua village, 50 girls are studying in a tribal girls ashram. There is no arrangement for clean drinking and toilet water. Children are falling ill, and there is no medical aid available. In case of power failure, children have to manage in the dark. Saroj, the parent of a girl who studies in class one in the Ashram has complained in the parents teachers meeting, but no action has been taken. The president of the ashram lives in Jabalpur and travels to and fro daily. Saroj seeks the help of Swara community for improvement in the conditions of the ashram. No immunization of children, pregnant women from a year

Saroj Paraste from Kundam block in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh is talking to a woman and an Asha health worker. Both of them are telling her that no immunization is going on in their area from last one year and children and pregnant women are suffering. Adivasi laborer loses hand in factory, gets no support

Saroj Paraste is interviewing an adivasi laborer Som Singh Tekam in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh whose right hand was cut while working on a cresher. Mr Tekam says he worked in the factory for 17 years but the factory owner has not given him any support and he has not got any help from Govt. NREGA : Bank could not make passbooks in 5 years!

Saroj Paraste is talking to a farmer Bishan bhai in village Kumarjhar in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh who tell her that they opened a bank account for NREGA payments now 5 years ago but they are yet to get their passbooks. They have visited the bank in the city many times. This causes them loss of work but still they are yet to get the passbook. Banks are asking bribe of Rs 200 from each farmer : A villager

Saroj Paraste is reporting from a villagers meeting in an adivasi village in Jabalpur district of Chhattisgarh. She says farmers are discussing many of their problems. Some are talking of non payment of compensation from hailstone. One was complaining that Bank officials are demanding Rs 200 bribe from each farmer. Some complained about no roads in their villages.
