Forest dept evicted adivasis from forest land, No action on Forest Rights Act...
Jagdish Ji today is visiting manikpur village in Chitrakoot district in Uttar Pradesh where he meets 40 adivasi families. They tell him that they started cultivating around 300 bigha of forest land in 1992 but they were removed from that land in 2000. They have applied for getting that land back under Forest Rights Act but there is no action. Industrial pollution: No growth in paddy after 8 months of planting in Raigarh...
Rajesh Tripathi from Jan Chetna in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh is telling us that near industrial area in the district where industries are pouring their dirty water, no rice has grown this year after 8 months of planting in more than 30 acres. School building work in Adivasi village started 6 years ago, Not completed yet
Khuturam Sunani is telling us about adivasi village of Mahuljharan in Khariar block of Nuapada district. He talks to a villager Hutasan Majhi who tells him that in his village Govt started a school in 2000. First they made a hut for the school and money was sanctioned in 2006 for the school buiding.
