आज फिर सजा है जिला कार्यालय
फरियादी है कागजो का ढेर है
नीली पीली बत्ती वाली गाडियों का आवागमन है
खाकी वर्दी वाले भी है और सफेदपोशों की भी भीड़ है
जमीन भी वही है और धूप भी घनी है, पर मौसम का मिजाज कुछ अजीब है
पेड़ो की डालियों पर आज कोई शोर नहीं है, पर फिजाओ में कुछ अजीब सी आवाज गूँज रही है
ये कैसी चीखे है बचाओ बचाओ की, पर किसी को सुनाई क्यों नहीं देती
हवा में कुछ अजीब सी महक है जलने की, पर आसमान तो साफ़ है
अरे ये क्या जमीन पर माँ- बेटी जिन्दा जल रही है
अरे इन्हें कोई बचाता क्यों नहीं कोई आग बुझाता क्यों नहीं
अरे ये भीड़ शांत क्यों है अरे ये इंसानी दिल पत्थर क्यों बना हुआ है
अरे ये खाकी वर्दी वाले आगे क्यों नहीं बढ्ते अरे ये कोट धारी भी मूक खड़े है
ऐ हवा तू भी आज शांत है और ये बादल भी आज नहीं बरस रहे
अरे ये हजारो की भीड़ वाला कचहरी परिसर आज सूना सूना सा क्यों लग रहा है
अरे कोई वकील, कोई मुंशी, कोई पेशकार, राहगीर कोई भी नहीं जो इन जलती महिलाओ को बचाए
अरे ये डीएम साहब कहाँ गए उन्हें इन महिलाओ की चीख पुकार क्यों नहीं सुनाई देती
अरे क्या सभी की संवेदनाये मर गयी है या फिर दिल पत्थर बन गए है
लगता है इंसानियत मर गयी है
नहीं नहीं इस देश का लोकतंत्र मर गया है

Jagdish with Land Rights Cycle Yatra in Jaba block of Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh has reached Kanchanpur village where more than 600 dalits and adivasis live. He meets a 90 year old adivasi Chhotelal who tells him that powerful people have captured his land but he got no support from the administration after repeated requests.
