No compensation for Dam in 15 years, boycotting election
Shankarlal from Lalitpur district in Uttar Pradesh is talking to some villagers who are boycotting the ongoing Vidhan Sabha elections. The villagers tell him that a dam was built in the area 15 years ago where farmers lost their land but they are yet to get any compensation. 300 rupees taken for making Aadhaar card, no receipt issued
In Village Dewla , Tehsil Thikri District Barwani Aadhaar cards are being made by charging upto 300 rupees. No receipts are being issued. Ganesh Kumar Badole has tried to complain to the local call centre but the number is engaged. He says that the Sarpanch is aware of the matter, and is not helping. Seeking help from police and administration- homeless living on the road.
Last December the corporation demolished some homes and shops to widen the road in Daganiya Raipur. About 60 families were affected. To date these people are living on the road. As no arrangements were made for them, they are forced to carry out their daily ablutions on the road. In the broken down homes and shops, anti social elements have begun their activities, causing disruption of social life of the residents.
