Subhash Gayali from Jharkhand is telling us about a regional meet about mining and land in Dhanad district. The main issue was the practices of BCCL which had the rights to mine upto 2005, however they continued and in 2006, 50 mine labourers lost their lives. Brijesh Yadav from Rewa in Madhya Pradesh says about 400 adivasi and dalit families applied for the BPL cards last year. As promised and much advertised in the Public Service Guarantee act the cards should have been delivered in 30 days. Anil Bamne from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh says the Sanjeevni ambulance did not turn up again. Last time when Anil left a similar complaint on Swara, health secretary had intervened. But again, a pregnant woman had to be taken to the hospital by private vehicle, after suffering labour pain for hours.
