NREGA : Collector, Labor court, no one able to help get wages
Sanjay Sharma from Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh is telling about a NREGA work of deepening of pond in Turna village of Lakhanpur block from 2010. He says 63 laboreres worked on it and no wages have been paid to any of them so far. Total of Rs 1,47,700 wages are due to the people, for which they have complained to Panchayat, Janpad and also to collector. People have also gone to labor court but have not got any help yet. 15,000 march in Delhi to demand implementation of land laws
Sourav Jain is telling us about a rally of 15,000 landless people in Delhi on 7th March demanding implementation of land laws in the country. Assembled under the banner of Ekta Parishad 25,000 landless people had marched from Gwalior to Delhi in 2007 and government had made promises to people which they are yet to fulfill. Not paid, Laborers do not want to work for NREGA any more
Bindeshwari Lal Paikra from Sitapur block of Surguja district in Chhattisgarh was visiting Semarpura village where he starts talking to some laborers who worked on NREGA a year back. They said they have not been fully paid yet. They said their job card is with the higher village officials. NREGA public hearing in Surguja : No officer turns up to listen
Sanjay Sharma is telling us about a public hearing on non payment in MGNREGA on 5th March in Ambikapur in Surguja. 350 villagers from 30 villages took part in the hearing and presented letters from more than 700 laborers which talks of lakhs of rupees of due payment in MGNREGA. BBC decides to continue with one bulletin in Hindi Service
