BhagirathJi says the atrocities which are taking place on adivasis in Chhattisgarh are not possible unless they are okayed from highest authorities. He says it looks the elected representatives do not that adivasis should live on that land which has all the minerals beneath and accusses them to selling off the area to multinational companies. He requests President to intervene and demands President rule.

Social activist Swami Agnivesh says when he tried to visit the villages in Dantewada in last few days where police has burnt houses, killed adivasis and raped women, he was stopped because govt wants to hide these crimes. He says CM Raman Singh should take moral responsibility and should go in helicopters himself to distribute relief to those hungry and suffering adivasis. Vipin Mishra from Raigarh says that land mafia is very active these days in the area. Recently 194 cases came out where they have sold government and community land. In another interesting case 1500 acre of land was bought from villagers saying it will be used for growing herbs for medicines by Baba Ramdev. Now a power plant is coming up on that land. Villagers say they gave land for herbs and do not want a power plant but administration is hellbent to help the industry against people’s wishes by arranging public hearing. Blasius Tigga from Surguja Chhattisgarh says whole of Surguja district is under 5th schedule of Indian constitution and no land can be taken here without consultation with Gram Sabhas. But administration is continuously ignoring Gram Sabhas. I have reported in the past about breaking of houses of 6 Oraon tribals last week against the advise of Gram Sabha.
