The workers tell him that they worked in the factory for last 5 years. The owner is closing down the factory but is not giving any accounts for their work. Bhagirath Verma from Basti Bachao Andolan is talking to a citizen of a basti called Tengania in Raipur in Chhattisgarh. The Nagar Nigam had given a 3 day eviction notice and people went to court for a stay. But the bulldozers came before the time given and broke houses. Though people showed the application to the court and the stay arrived few hours after bulldozing of houses. Govt has not talked about any compensation or relocation to the people. The women say they have been given alternative land at far off place from where it takes Rs 30 to come and go whereas they earn less than Rs 100 in a day.
