Forest dept gives oral eviction orders to tribals in Gir forest

Ashok Shrimali from Gujarat says forest department has given oral eviction orders to 30 tribal families who lives inside the Gir National forest. At one side Govt is making special arrangements for tourists which create lots of problem for the wildlife but are evicting people living there for many years. Corruption in NREGA: No action after more than a year

Gulaliya Kanasiya from Badwani district in Madhya Pradesh says there were some NREGA work in his village in mid 2010 where some false payments were made.The villagers have submitted a complaint to CEO Badwani on 16/11/10. They followed up with another application on 23/6/11 and then again on 10/8/11 they submitted a third application.

Villagers form organisation to decide their own collective fate

Subhash Gayali from Dhanbad in Jharkhand says people in the area says companies here have destroyed their forest and land a lot and they feel the need to make a people’s organisation to stop further destruction.
