Kamlesh from Bijapur in Chhattisgarh interviews eyewitnesses of an incident where a SPO ( Special Police Officer) open fired with his official rifle and killed a youth after some dispute. The eyewitnesses say the SPO was drunk and people are very angry after the incident. Government has appointed SPOs to help in its fight against the Maoists.

Shiney Mirza from Surajpur Chhattisgarh says corruption by our leaders is not giving access to basic needs of people and it is forcing our fellow citizens towards crime. She says we need citizens who serve not leaders who serve themselves. She ends with a couplet :

तन की भूख मन को गुनहगार बना देती है
बाग की वाह को बीमार बना देती है
ऐ राष्ट्र भक्ति सिखाने वालो भूख इंसान को गद्दार बना देती है

Arvind Avinash from Ranchi is reporting about villagers getting together to stop tree felling in the forest. He says that people came to know about illegal felling of Sakhua trees in the forest. Then villagers convened a meeting on 5th December and sent a team to village Agatoli and have confiscated lots of logs. Baleshwar Mahto head of Forest protection Samiti says due to harvesting season the samiti could not keep an active vigil on the forest and that’s why the tree were cut

कलेक्टर आर प्रसन्ना ने पटवारियों के लिए भी खास निर्देश जारी किए। उनसे कहा गया उनके दौरे संबंधी विवरण बोर्ड पर अंकित किए जाए। यह भी कहा गया पटवारियों के लिए बनवाए गए शासकीय आवासों की मरम्मत की जाए और जहां जरूरी हो नए बनाए जाएं। राजस्व संबंधी छोटे मामलों के अलावा जाति प्रमाण पत्र, नामांतरण, बटवारा, नक्शा-खसरा से जुड़े आवेदन बिना देर किए निपटाए जाए।

एक अन्य बैठक में कलेक्टर ने अधिकारियों से कहा कि जिले के विभिन्न गांवों में मांझी चालकी सहित कोटवारों के खाली पड़े पदों पर जल्द नियुक्तियां की जाएं। यह घोषणा मुख्यमंत्री ने बस्तर दशहरे पर होने वाले मुरिया दरबार में की थी। कलेक्टर ने अधिकारियों से कहा कि हाट बाजार का निरीक्षण करें और बेची जाने वाली आम उपभोक्ता वस्तुओं की गुणवत्ता पर निगाह रखें।

Upendra Vahinipati from Bilaspur says the number of deaths due to malaria is increasing every day in the district and government efforts to contain are not seen on the ground. The number of malaria patients these days is so high in the hospitals that is is difficult to serve them. He hopes that next time Government of Chhattisgarh will take better precautions to stop malaria spreading mosquitoes.
