Forest staff live away from area, Teak smuggling continues

Afzal Khan from Bhopalpatnam in Chhattisgarh says teak smuggling in the area continues. This week a team led by few forest guards and daily wage laborers caught teak worth Rs 2.5 lakhs from Indravati river while being transported to Andhra. State has appointed more than a dozen full time staff to stop this smuggling but they do not live in the area. Rampant corruption in forest pond construction in Gadchiroli

Bhan Sahu is interviewing Jaidev Mohole of Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra who is sharing about the poor state of Forest Reservoirs built by Forest Department. A Chhattisgarhi song on corruption in Forest department

Forest dept gives oral eviction orders to tribals in Gir forest

Ashok Shrimali from Gujarat says forest department has given oral eviction orders to 30 tribal families who lives inside the Gir National forest. At one side Govt is making special arrangements for tourists which create lots of problem for the wildlife but are evicting people living there for many years. School on forest land, so children forced to study under tree

Khuturam Sunani is talking to a villager in Bolangir district of Odisha who says the school in his village was inaugurated by MLA in 2006 but because it is on forest land so the forest department is not allowing a school building to be built and children are forced to study under a tree.
