Police arrested 3, Have not produced in court in a week!
Lalit Chakraborty from Malkangiri in Odisha says police have arrested 3 youth in Padmagiri area on 19th March. They also broke house of one of the person before arresting. More than 200 people marched to collector and district police chief who told them that there was a warrant against the arrested. For 4 days we have camped here without food. Somehow we are managing to get food from the sea, but it is not enough.I have not gone to school, and one woman who has delivered a baby is not being allowed to go home.I am not under pressure to participate, but I will not leave because this plant is just 2 kilometres from my village, and we can all be killed one day like the people in Japan. Jharkhand villagers protest extension of Tata Iron ore mines
Subash Gayali from Jharkhand tells us that Pollution control department has arranged a public hearing in Nuamundi in West Singhbhum district for clearance of extension of a Tata Iron ore mines. People are protesting because the iron ore mines have increased pollution in the area and have not fulfilled their past promises. Wild animals destroying our crops, please help...
Radheshyam Mali from Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh says wild animals like Nilgais are destroying their crops at night. This is happening in around 25 villages and they are not getting any help from the forest or agriculture department. He says agriculture is their only source of income and many farmers are under debt due to this problem and their children are sufferng. He says Govt should help them somehow.
