Is profitability the only criteria for privatisation of a public service?
The government bus service is being privatised. Here Praful speaks of the experience of a health worker who was stranded without any way to reach the patient to the hospital. After waiting from morning to evening, she had to return home, hire a private vehicle to take the patient.
The situation is very bad at this time because this is the marriage season, and the private bus operators have hired out their buses to higher bidders. There is no control over them at all.
Should we not be considering the impact of privatisation beyond profit, questions Praful ji. he can be contacted at 9753440835
