Lamtu Singh from Pushparajgarh tahsil of Anuppur district in Madhya Pradesh says he recently got a chance to visit some hilly areas nearby and saw adivasis doing Bewar ( shifting cultivation). They grow at least 21 variety of crops. He says earlier our ancestors grew all these crops but they got stopped by intervention of forest dept. Now they do daily labor and eat rice after buying. Brijesh Singh is talking to villagers from Mankahri village of Raipur-Kalchurian block in Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh who tells him that they worked under NREGA, some for 4 months but they have not got any wages. Some have paid bribe of upto Rs 1200 to Sarpanch to get wages but no wages. They have all come to SDM to complain today.
