500 women sit with petition for 4 hours, Officer sends a peon to collect it!

Gayatri Devi is walking on a foot march from 1st January demanding 5 acre of land and have reached Raisen district after covering districts of Rewa, Satna, Chhatarpur, Sagar and Damoh. Today 500 women went to local SDM to deliver a petition but after 4 hours SDM sent a peon to collect the letter. No wages from 7 months Teacher asking for bribe says mid-day meal cook...

Children died in abandoned Open cast mines, demand for leveling gets louder

Subhash Gayali from Dhanbad in Jharkhand is telling us that locals in that area has been demanding for long that after coal mining is finished the abandoned open cast mines should be levelled so that farmers can restart their farming. That demand got louder today when 4 children drowned in collected water inside an open cast mine, where they had gone to play and lost their lives. People are very angry after the incident. Villagers vow to continue demand leveling of closed mines to restart farming...
