Swara Impact :Food sent to children after complaint to Minister

Priyanka from Mumbai says Anil Bamne had earlier called on this forum to tell that a displaced village of Achanakmar Tiger reserve did not receive any food for 5 months in their anganvadi for pre school children. She had called Lata Usendi, minister for women and child welfare in Chhattisgarh to complain about the case. After another follow up now officials reached the village yesterday and have delivered 12 quintal rice for the hungry children. She requests others to use Swara platform similarly to improve delivery system on ground and thanks the minister for taking action

Request to call minister to arrange food for hungry children

Anil Bamne had sent a report last month saying that Anganwadi in a village called Mahul which has been displaced from Achanakmar Tiger reserve did not receive any food supply from Govt from last 5 months. Priyanka Borpujari from Mumbai says she had called Minister Lata Usendi that day who had promised to look into the issue. Today though minister says the food has been sent no food has reached the village. She requests all of us to call Minister Ms Usendi at 09425590980 to expedite food supply to hungry children

Secretary says govt has no system to know about remote areas!

Priyanka Borpujari from Mumbai says yesterday I heard a report on Swara by Savita Raj from Raigarh that children in her anganwadi does not have any food after govt has stopped the supplies. So today I called Women and child welfare secretary of Chhattisgarh government Mr Rao at 09425207525 who told me that I should call up Collector Raigarh as they have no system to find out about situations in villages of remote areas!

Gutka sale to children stops in a MP village

Priyank Joshi from Jabalpur reports that during a Right to life meeting villagers took a vow in a village called Khama that they will not allow reach of intoxicating material to the children. One shopkeeper of the village agreed but the second one said it is his business, so how can he stop this sale and issue was not resolved.

During the meeting it was also decided that no bad language or force will be used against women, every child will go to school and money for NREGA will be properly utilized. Whole village took food together which was collected from each house. After the food the second shopkeeper stood up and said he was wrong and he also promises to not to sale any gutka to any child
