Rupchand Panchtilak from Ekta Parishad in Balaghat district in MP is talking to a Baiga adivasi Samal Singh Dhurve who was evicted from Kanha National park in 1975 and have not been given any land or compensation. There are 419 families like this and they have captured Govt land on an abandoned dairy.Samal says we think it is our Govt but the Govt does not care for us. Aartibai Valmiki is visiting Kanchanpuri village in Damoh district in Madhya Pradesh and finds that in this village of 32 dalit families they got a combined land deed in 1971. Today they do not get Govt support on policies because they do not have individual land deeds. Ramashankar Prajapati is visiting Itaura village in Post sagra in Tahsil Hujur of Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh and meets Yashoda Saket who tells him that around 80% of the 700 people living here dont have ration cards. Very few have BPL cards though all of them are daily wage laborers. They also dont have Job cards. They have complained to officials and local MLA but they got only assurances. They dont have land. Meera from Narmada Bachao Andolan is informing that police today arrested displaced farmers from Jobat dam who were farming on Govt land from 2 years. Govt has not given displaced people land after submerging and as a last option they had occupied and many officials have visited and know about this.
