Charan Parte is at Sarasmal village in Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh where people tell him that there are mines in 3 sides of their village and they can not go to forest to get wood and other forest produce as they did before. Water level has gone down and they are not left with any source of drinking water. There is huge pollution. Charan Parte is visiting village Amatola post Kukra block Baihar Balaghat district in MP where he meets Bilsabai from village Jami who were displaced for Kanha national park. She says they have got Rs 10 lakh and have bought land but here they can do one crop unlike 2 in Kanha. Water and firewoods are problem.
