Dealer returns ration card after complaint aired on Swara

Santosh Tudu from Ranchi Jharkhand says he had heard a message on Swara on 24th June. According to the message ration card dealer of a village in Jharkhand had taken away ration cards of people which he was using to black market the food grains meant for the villagers. He says when I called the person who had reported he was very pleased to report that his ration card was returned after he reported on Swara. Observations from a trip to home, a tribal village in Jharkhand

Santosh Tudu is an engineer and lives in Ranchi. Last week he went to his village and wants to share his observations. He was shocked to find the quality of drinking water which has also made him sick. He went to a fair where people did not mind postponement a theater show after buying tickets. He was also impressed with the performance of the Santhali theater activists who work as laborer during the day and perform in the evening. He requests the Govt to help this theater industry. Maoists should release abducted policemen for humanity

Santosh from Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh says on 25th January 5 policemen and one villager was abducted by Maoists in Narayanpur district and till date there is no news about them. He says he has heard that some families have no earning member apart from the abducted policemen. Maoists should release the policemen in the name of humanity. This will send a good signal to society.

Tribals revolts against British predate first war of independence

Santosh from Jharkhand sends greetings on the occassion of Republic Day on 26th January. He says many sacrificed their lives to give us this day. Though it is said that the first fight of independence started in 1857 but tribals were the first to understand the British and the tribals revolts go back to as early as 1757 when people like Tilka Majhi, Sidhu Kanhu and Birsa Munda revolted against British.
