He was asked to deposit Rs 25,000 to get the information. He went on first appeal and the officer decided in the month of February this year that he should be given all the information without any charge. But he is yet to get any information. Prakash Gupta from Surguja says he was reporting on Swara about irregularities in NREGA payments in baikona village of Pratappur block in Surajpur district. Today he is talking to Mr Paras Painkra, Chief Executive Officer of Pratappur Janpad Panchayat. Mr Painkra tells him that after hearing about the complaints on Swara the payments now have been made and banks have also started disbursing the due wages. Prakash Gupta is visiting Baikona village in Pratappur block of Surajur district in Chhattisgarh where a Gram Sabha is in progress where he meets many people who tell him one by one that they have not got their wages in NREGA from more than a year. Some have got some money and some got no money. They have visited officials who make them go rounds and some threaten them while also giving many excuses.
