Jeetanram Pahadi Korwa is calling from village Salkheta, post Kumarta in Dharmajaigarh block of Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh. He says 35 Pahadi Korwa adivasis had filled up forms for Forest Rights Act in 2008 but so far only 16 of us have got the land deeds. Earlier this month we recorded a message on CGnet and since then we are flooded with phone calls from officers and they are saying before Dussehra all of us will get land deeds and they are suggesting other Pahadi Korwas should also fill application. My name is Jeetan Ram. I am a Pahadi Korwa adivasi. I am calling from Upar Salkheta village, panchayat Gitkalo, block Dharmajaigarh district Raigarh Chhattisgarh. Elephants destroyed 19 houses in my village. Around 100 houses were destroyed in half a dozen villages nearby. We are living in different places now. Children can’t go to school. Saniram Pahadi Korwa is calling from Chhuipahad village under Gindha post, thana Kapu in Dharamjaigarh tehsil of Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh and talking to Shukkhuram who tells him that 100 adivasi families live here but they don’t have electric connectivity till date and no proper road to their village so they are suffering.
