NREGA laws need to be revised for rocky adivasi villages
Aloka from Ranchi says it is not possible to dig wells or ponds on rocky land because the Manrega scheme is limited to planting trees, soil shifting, and leveling activity.Cutting rock is not included in the scheme. An Oraon village leader in a village 30 kilometres off Ranchi explained to Aloka, that most Oraon villages are based on rocky land and so NREGA laws needs to be revised if it is to be effective for them.For more please contact Aloka at 09430194872

No one spoke in favor of industry in Dharmajaigarh public hearing

Birsa Ulgulan anniversary celebrated near Ranchi

On this day in 1900 Birsa Munda was arrested by British and was put behind bars in Ranchi. Thousands took out rally in Raipur demanding livelihood rights

Due to unprecedented heavy rain in the whole state many people could not join the rally but more than 2000 tribals and struggling people took out a rally in rain and were stopped by police where they presented a memorandum signed by more than a lakh people demanding better implementation of PESA, FRA, NREGA and stopping harassment of activists and displacement from ancestral lands in the name of development
