Adivasis not getting any NREGA work in Chambal: Activist
After starting on 2nd October in Kanyakumari Jan Satyagraha samvad Yatra of Ekta Parishad has reached Chambal area in Madhya Pradesh after covering half of the country. Bhan Sahu ji taveling with the yatra is talking to Rajkumari Chouhan an activist who tells her that the forest department is harassing the adivasis in the area and they are not getting any work in NREGA. Situation going bad to worse in adivasi areas...
Bhan Sahu is talking to journalist Pradeep Khatik in Hata area of Bundelkhand area in Madhya Pradesh who tells her that in this adivasi area the situation of health, education and other resources are going from bad to worse. Children are malnourished and none of the schools open for more than few hours. Women are forced to deliver at home as hospitals are in bad shape. Got land deeds but Forest officials not allowing to work...
Bhan Sahu traveling with Jan Satyagraha yatra of Ekta Parishad has reached Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh where she talks to Gopal Ram ji who is telling her about the problem adivasi people in the area are facing from forest department. He says forest people are throwing people out of forest though there is no forest in those areas. Some people have got land deeds from the CM but forest people are not allowing them to work. Call us Naxal, put in jail but will continue to fight: Activist
Bhan Sahu traveling with jan Satyagraha Yatra of Ekta Parishad has reached Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh where she meets an activist Shanti behen who tells her how they are fighting for the rights of adivasi people on their Jal, Jangle and Jameen. She says when they raised the issue of forest rights 8 of them were put in jail by naming them Naxals, 32 adivasis were beaten up. Govt give us land to make our lives better, says adivasis
Bhan Sahu traveling with Jan Satyagraha yatra of Ekta Parishad has reached a village in Madhya Pradesh where she talks to adivasis who tell her that there life is very difficult without a piece of land. They survive of daily labor work which is irregular. When there is no work we have nothing to eat, they tell her. They say other people in our villages have lots of land but we don’t.
