Open coal mines are killing river Damodar near my village, says a girl child...
My name is Chitra Kumari. I am calling from Bagmara block of Dhanbad district in Jharkhand. Damodar river flows next to my village but the river is in bad shape thanks to coal mines in the area. Many of them throw their waste direct in the river. Thousands of villages and lakhs of people depend of the river. I request the Govt to stop this murder of the river and force coal mines to level the open cast mines and give people their land back. For more Chitra Ji can be reached at 09570081278

Piped drinking water is coming to this village but not to adivasi homes!
My name is Mukesh Kumar. I am calling from Jaba block of Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. On 15th day of our cycle yatra we have reached a village called Raghunathpur. Here Govt is bringing piped drinking water to people’s houses but the water is not being brought to adivasi houses. The local adivasis tell that they have no option but to look for laborer work all around the whole day. This is the situation after so many years of independence.
