Yashwant says there are many such cases in this adivasi district and government should be more careful in stopping these adivasi youth in getting diverted in other direction by engaging them in these employment schemes. Yashwant Ramteke from Dantewada says as the summer is just arriving the water problem is again becoming severe. He gives example of a village near Dantewada where Public Health department has made a check dam spending Rs 1 crore. But soon after its completion cracks have developed and the village is again dependent on tube well which are getting repaired. Dudhiram Jaiswal from village Chhapora of block Malkurd district Janjgir Champa says they only have Grameen bank in his villaeg. The headquarter of these banks are in Bilaspur and Raipur. The bank employees come to bank at 1.30 pm and leave at 3.30. This is causing problem to farmers and other villagers. They also harass us by asking us to come to bank many times, he says. He interviews two laborers there who are getting ready to migrate out of village in search of work. One of them had worked 9 weeks and another 7 weeks in NREGA last year but they have not been paid yet. Yashwant Ramteke says according to recently announced Excise policy all the liquor shops should be at a distance from school, hospital and main roads. But if you travel around Chhattisgarh you will find shops just next to these institutions and there is no effort to close them even after the policy announcement.
