Forest Rights Act: Living on forest land from 1975 but yet to get land deeds...
Jagdish from Rewa in Madhya Pradesh is meeting few adivasis from a village called Gadhbhoi who tells him that they are around 1000 people who are living on forest land from year 1975 in that village. They have applied for land deeds under Forest Rights Act and have followed it up with officials also in block level but they are yet to get their deeds. Impact: Officer who broke adivasi houses transferred,But no compensation yet
Jagdish from Rewa in Madhya Pradesh is talking to adivasis in Chhipia village today. Tahsildar of the area had broken their houses on 10th September. When police did not file FIR they had sent a report on Swara. After that report Scheduled Tribe commission has sent them a letter promising action and police invited them for a query and tahsildar has been transferred. No NREGA, No FRA land, No school, No anganwadi, No electricity, No water...
Jagdish Ji in Rewa Madhya Pradesh is visiting village Chhataria in Jaba block. Around 250 adivasis live in this forest village.He speaks to an old adivasi woman there who tells him that in the village there is no electricity, no water, no school, no anganwadi and there have been no NREGA work. 80% of people have migrated in search of work. Railway station in Rewa district in MP have very little facilities for passengers...
Jagdish from Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh is standing at Dabhaura railway station today in the middle of night where he finds hunders of passengers shivering with cold as railway has not made any arrangement for people to escape the cold. He says it is a major railway station in Rewa connecting major long distance trains and railway earns more than Rs 10 lakhs by sale of tickets.
