No teacher, Villagers lock the school, start their own

Khuturam Sunani from Nuapada district in Odisha is telling us about a school in a village called Shraddhapur where there are 142 students but only one para teacher. The villagers have been complaining to the authorities from last 6 months but nothing has moved. CM spends lakhs to give compensation of 20,000!

Khuturam Sunani from Nuapada district of Odisha is telling us about a trip of Chief Minsiter Nabin Patnaik to give compensation to some flood victims. He says CM gave assistance of Rs 20,000 to 13 families and spent many lakhs on his trip on helicopter. Because Odisha is a poor state current CM’s father used to come to assembly by bicycle and rikshaw. Current ministers also abandon these lavish expenditure from the state’s exchequre. People get together to build a stop dam themselves...

Khuturam Sunani from Nuapada in Odisha says river Jonk flows next to Khariar road town. During rains there are floods in the river but at the time of summer people suffer for drinking water. People have requested for long to their representatives and officials for a stop dam. Now they have got together to make a dam themselves and the work have started. Allegation of lax safety standards for daily wage workers

Yashwant Ramteke from Bacheli in Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh says National Mineral Development Corporation which has iron ore mines in the area uses double standards as far as safety of the workers is concerned. He says NMDC takes care well of its full time employees but daily wage laborers who are mainly local adivasis they are ignored.
