Though Forest Act says if an adivasi has applied for forest land no action should be taken till the application is decided. Jang Sai Koya from Parsagudi village in Rajpur block in Balrampur district of Chhattisgarh says though the Forest rights act says if an adivasi has filed an application for his or her land, that can not be touched unless the case is decided. He says though no deccision has been taken on the applications from my village forest officials have destroyed the crop of Mr Ramchandra and have taken away his cattle. Jang Sai Koya from Bharat Jan Andolan in Surguja in Chhattisgarh says South Eastern Coalfield Ltd has started work on a coal mine called Mahan-2 without any Gram Sabha clearance. When we went to ask about it they filed a case of Rs 37 lakhs against us saying we have harmed the work of the mines. Now in the case when we asked for a copy of Gram Sabha resolution they have said that Panchayat acts do not apply on them! These officers of Coal India should be penalised.
