So panchs and sarpanchs are not able to participate in the decision making process and have only remained an executioners of decisions taken at higher level. Bhan Sahu is reporting from Mahul area in Rajnandgaon district where in the high school there are no teachers for Maths, Science and English. Students come from far off places to this school but there is no replacement for transferred teachers after 3 months of the start of the session. In Chichli villager there are only 2 teachers to teach the class 9 and 10. How can a single teacher handle all the subjects, she asks. Bhan Sahu from Rajnandgaon is reporting that displaced families of Mogra dam are yet to be compensated for their inundated land. They gave an ultimatum of 2 weeks to the government but when there was no response they sat on a demonstration on the dam and tried to open the dam gates. Government has now assured them that the compensation will be paid by the month of January. Bhan says if the compensation is not paid by promised date then people have decided to start a hunger strike
