Kamal Shukla from Kanker district in (North Bastar), Chhattisgarh says the district was formed in 1998 but we are yet to get a Labor office. Though the district is home to Bauxite and iron ore mines apart from many other non-mining based factories but the labor officers appointed for the district are operating from other districts. Kamal Shukla from Kanker district in Chhattisgarh says Mines department in the district is not giving information about mining in the area giving secracy clause. He says in last 4 years 35 RTI applications were made and in only 6 cases, information was given. In 2 cases the applicant had to go to appeal. Refused cases also include Central Govt’s Bhilai Steel Plant’s mining acitivity in Raoghat area about which the Information officer has said that these information can not be given.
