Adivasis take out anti liquor rally in Bastar, demands closure of illegal shops...
Kaladas Daharia from Chhattisgarh Sharab Virodhi Manch is telling us about a rally adivasi villagers brought out in a village in Kondagaon in Bastar. Women, children and school teachers all joined in the rally and requested adivaisis also not to make 5 litres of liquor which they are legally allowed to make. Bastar: No Anganwadi officer from 2 years, workers not paid from 4 months
My name is Jaya Dhruv. I am calling from Bastar in Chhattisgarh to tell you that here the Govt has not been able to appoint the officer in charge for Anganvadis ( Intergrated Child development scheme) in last 2 years. That is causing huge problem for young children. The Anganwadi workers have not got their wages from last 4 months and their work is getting affected. They are getting demoralised. Please help. North Bastar: District was formed 14 years ago, Yet to get Labor officer
Kamal Shukla from Kanker district in (North Bastar), Chhattisgarh says the district was formed in 1998 but we are yet to get a Labor office. Though the district is home to Bauxite and iron ore mines apart from many other non-mining based factories but the labor officers appointed for the district are operating from other districts. RTI: Govt not giving Mining information in North Bastar
Kamal Shukla from Kanker district in Chhattisgarh says Mines department in the district is not giving information about mining in the area giving secracy clause. He says in last 4 years 35 RTI applications were made and in only 6 cases, information was given. In 2 cases the applicant had to go to appeal. Refused cases also include Central Govt’s Bhilai Steel Plant’s mining acitivity in Raoghat area about which the Information officer has said that these information can not be given.
