Only 1 handpump for 500 people, requesting officers from 5 years, no help...
Chandmani Shandil is talking to villagers in Baspana basti of Ergeda village in Banki panchayat, Gurundiya block, Sundergarh district, Odisha where village women tell her in Mundari language that there is only 1 hand pump in the whole village of around 500 people. They travel long distance and get dirty water from stream and well and are falling ill. They are requesting for extra hand pumps from 5 years but no one listnes. Ghanshyam Marskole along with CGNet Citizen Journalism Awareness Yatra reached Ward no. 1 in Garatola-138 village in Jaba block, Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh and talking to villagers. For 1500 population there are only 2 hand pumps which presently gives dirty water and they fall sick of drinking it. They fetch water from long distances. I am 65 years old, my sons don't help, neither officers to get old age pension...
Anil a member of Rashtriya Garima Abhiyan is calling from Shitalha village of Jawa tehsil, Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh and talking to Ram Avtar an old person of the village, who despite of being 65 years is not getting old age pension.
