Bihar adivasis sing songs, plant trees to remember social activist Dr Vinayan...

Raju Rana is reporting live from Adhoura area in Kaimur district in Bihar where adivasis are remebering death anniversary of social activist Dr Vinayan by singing songs and planing trees. Dr Binayan lived with adivasis for many years before he died in 2006 on this day. He fought with them to save their land, forest and water and was instrumental in brining Forest Rights Act. Govt not giving rights on minor minerals to adivasis in sanctuaries in Bihar...

Raju Rana is visiting Kaimur area in Bihar where he meets Balkeshwar Ji a leader of Kaimur Mukti Morcha who is telling him that Govt has declared the forest in the area as a sanctuary and is not allowing rights for minor minerals to adivasis. He says the situation of adivasis is worse then what it was at the time of British. There are no teachers in school, there is corruption in NREGA, he alleges. Govt not giving land records to protesters of coal mining, alleges villagers...

Raju is visiting Karnapura area in border of Hazaribagh, Chatra and Latehar districts in Jharkhand where 32 coal companies are planning to set up mining and more than 200 villages will loose land. People tell him that they are getting a rate of Rs 10,000 per katha ( a local unit) and local administration is adopting fraudulent methods to deprive people protesting against coal mines from land records.
