अच्छा हुआ मैं किसान न हुआ, सपने सच नही होते – सपने सच नही होते तो क्या सपने देखे नही जाये-
औरों से मुझे क्या मैं तो देखना चाहता हूँ – उन खेतों में लहलहाती धान की बालियाँ – जिनमे कुछ दिनों पहले ढेर सारी-
श्रम बालाओं ने की थी धान की रोपाई-
जिनके गीत के बोल अब भी-
गूंज रहे हैं खेतों के मेंढ़ों पर – ये सच है कि सपने सच नही होते –
लेकिन झूठ ही सही इन सपनो से दिखती आशाओं की दीप-
माना कि एक और बारिश आ जाती तो-
इस वर्ष भी हम क्या इस समय बैठे होते हाथ पर हाथ धरे – बल्कि खलिहान की कर रहे होते मरम्मत – सोमारू की दाई कूबड़ वाली कमर लिए – लीपती होती गोबर लिए खलिहान –
सोमारू खलिहान के चारो ओर रुंध रहा होता बाड़ी-
और बांस से बना रहा होता छोटा सा मचान – ताकि पक कर जब धान की बालियाँ आयें-
तो हो पूरी सुरक्षा अन्न और धन की – मैं जानता हूँ कि सपना है – खेत की तरफ ताकने से अब होती है पीड़ा – जैसे कि सब हो गया हो ख़त्म सिवाय इस एक स्वप्न के – एक राज की बात बताउं –
सपने अब यथार्त से डरावने आने लगे हैं – जिनमे सूखे खेत पैरों की दीवारों से फटी धरती-
कंकाल बने ढोर पशु और इन सब के बीच – चील कौओं से घिरी एक किसान की मृत देह – और जब मैं पास गया तो देखा – अरे ये तो मेरी ही देह है – और अब मैं रात रात भर जागते रहता हूँ – कि कही फिर से आ ना जाये ये डरावने सपने-
सपने सच नही होते तो क्या सपने देखे नही जाये – अच्छा हुआ मैं किसान ना हुआ...

Satya Banchhor is telling us about 43 leprosy affected families in Mahatma Gandhi Kushtha ashram who do not have any house and are living under the sun. District administration have been requested many times to help them but nothing happens. He says there are so many schemes to help leprosy patients but what is happening on those schemes.
