Chandra Pratap Singh from Navrachna Samaj Sevi sanstha in Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh is visiting a school in Gaurela block in Saraipani village. He says it is 12 o’clock here but none of the 4 teachers are around and children are playing. He calls up the sweeper of the school who tells him that headmaster has gone to collect money for mid day meal and he has no idea about other 3 teachers. Farmers protest against cement plants from 2 years, no one listens

Forest officer threatening to throw away from our land, please help

He says I had reported few days back that a forest ranger is threatening us to throw us out of our village but I got no response. The ranger wants to do plantation on our land. Mr Gond is living on forest land from 1960 but no land deed yet!
Ashok Singh Paigam from Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh is telling us the story of Kohram Say Gond an adivasi who is living on a forest land from 1960s. He has paid fines to forest department all these years. According to Forest Rights Act he should be getting the land deed but not only the officials ill treat him whenever he requests for the same, the forest department has burnt his house quite a few times.
