ग्राम पंचायत-बरपाटिया, ब्लाक-प्रतापपुर, जिला-सूरजपुर (छत्तीसगढ़) से रूपलाल मरावी बता रहा है जंगल घुमने गयी एक युवती को हाथी ने दौड़ा-दौड़ा कर डाले | बताया जा रहा है फारेस्ट विभाग गार्डजिसका नाम (एक्का रोदलिया) के साथ युवती (सोनामोनी ) पिता फिल्ड के नाम पर वनगोबरी नमक जंगल में गये थे इसी बीच हाथी से आमना सामना हुआ और युवती को दौड़ाने लगा और अपनी क्षमता के अनुसार ही वह से सकी परन्तु हाथी उसका पीछा नही अंततः जब युवती भाग-भाग कर थक गयी तब हाथी उसके ऊपर वार किया और जान बाद छोड़ा | ग्रामीणों का कहा है की सी विषय पर सरकार कोई ठोस कदम नही उठा रहे है बे वजह से ग्रामीण हाथियों का शिकार हो रहे है. ग्रामीणों के द्वारा अगर किसी प्रकार की हाथियों को मारेना योजना और मार दिया जाता है तो लोगों को जेल सजा दिया जाता है इस विषय पर सरकार को कोई ठोस निर्णय ले जिसे ग्रामीण लोग शांति से जीवन व्यक्तिव करे.
