Tonnes of fish die in Kelo river due to toxic industrial waste

Savita Rath from Raigarh says when people went to take bath this morning in Kelo river they found many dead fish. After exploration she found that more than 3 ton fish have died in Kelo river in last one week. She says the villagers alleged that industries at the bank of river are emptying their toxic waste at night. Children without food in Anganwadi after govt stops supply

Savita Raj from Barlia village in Raigarh in Chhattisgarh says their Self Help Group of adivasi woman is running a ICDS (anganwadi) center in the village but they have not received any help from the government from 1st January. She says we are a group of poor adivasi women we managed to give cooked food to children in last few months but we can not manage any more and today we could only give little dry food to children. Worked in NREGA for 100 days, no full payment after 7 months

Rakesh Rai from a village in Surguja district is interviewing a laborer in a bad mobile signal situation. The laborer says he has worked for 100 days in NREGA with his wife but they have got paid for 27 days after 7 months. The laborer says the officers keep telling me that the money has been deposited in bank and we will get the money soon but that soon never happens. Appeal to attend public hearing for coal mines in Raigarh on 28th
